BOX SCORE

Despite a tremendous effort, the ACPHS Panthers fell to Skidmore College 54-44 at home on Thursday night.

The Panthers shot to an early lead as Alyson Johnson (Malone, NY, Franklin Academy) lit up the scoreboard with the first four points of the game. Taylor Sullivan  (Troy, NY, Hoosic Valley) followed shortly after drawing the foul and netting both of her free throws.

The Panthers outstanding defense prevented Skidmore from driving to the basket limiting their scoring opportunities in the first half. This tremendous defense kept Skidmore at bay sending the Panthers into halftime with a lead of 27-24.
.
Johnson started the second half strong with two consecutive three pointers but Skidmore proved to be too much for the Panthers defense in the end. With 6 minutes remaining in the game Skidmore took over the lead and the Panthers were unable to recover.

Allyson Johnson had an outstanding game with 14 points and six rebounds while Taylor Sullivan contributed 11 points and six rebounds. Alex Oaks (Oaks Corners, NY, Midlakes) dominated the boards with 8 rebounds and also scored 7 points. Kelsey Johnson (Malone, NY, Franklin Academy) scored eight points and had 4 steals.

The Panthers play their first conference game of the season at home against The College of New Rochelle on Saturday, January 21st at 2pm.
